Full of life, overflowing with joy, pouring out and splashing all over others.
To be full of God first, to fill up with Him, is the only way to actually have room for all the other things in life. The things that make life full, the things that are joyful.
I want to be full. How much will it take to get me over the edge, to jump into that cup with no looking back. To know that this is the only kind of full that's worth having.
All the rest is just an illusion. Life looks full, but there's nothing in the cup at the end of the day and you're still thirsty. Thirsty for real, joyful life.
From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another. ~John 1:16

Oh this is so true and so beautiful. Nothing but He can really, truly fill us. I hunt for Him in all and He reminds me it really is Him I'm looking for.
ReplyDeleteRich blessings, Krista, as you rest in His arms for a full life...
P.S. what a smashingly beautiful, eye-catching place you have for your written word. I'm glad to have found you.
So true. All of the fullness of life is nothing, just dust in the bottom of our cup, if we are not full up to the top with Him, the one who fills all the empty... This blessed me today. Thank you for that. ;)
ReplyDeleteThe fullness is illusion... and that is the tragedy of life lived apart from God.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the reminder as I face another day with much to do and yet only a few very important things to do.
Thank you for this post. I wonder, too, how to trust that there is fullness and blessing on the other side of the jump - but you are right, we have to fill up with Him. I pray that you will feel His abundance and gracious blessings! (I'm visiting from The Gypsy Mama - glad to meet you!)
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about having an empty cup at the end of the day if you are not full of God.
ReplyDeleteIt is so counter-intuitive to fill up with God first, and yet it is the way to have room for all else.
We often may not take time to pray, because we are too busy, or too sad or worried or upset. And yet, when we slow down, pray, and take the time to allow God in, we feel His peace and love, and through that, we are able to live our day in a more productive and joyful way.
wonderful thoughts! thx for sharing. It's nice to meet you... here's my first stab at 5 minute friday:

Beautifully expressed. Filling our lives with activities, things etc are not what give true fulfillment. In fact, in my life, the busier I get, the emptier I feel: unless I KNOW it is activity He has ordained me to do.
ReplyDeleteWell done!!
ReplyDeleteShort, sweet, simple, profound.
Great work.
"Life looks full, but there's nothing in the cup at the end of the day and you're still thirsty." This is it. This is what we all struggle with when our head hits pillow at night. And you're right that filling up with the important things is the ticket...
ReplyDeleteYou're so right about this, Krista. HE's the only one who can really fill us up.
